Cara Atasi Masalah Zoom Tidak Selamat

Saya sendiri merasa bimbang sewaktu hendak menghadiri beberapa kelas online. Tapi seorang guru bisnes saya iaitu Tuan Abdul Basit memberitahu bahawa “Sekiranya syarikat Zoom tahu mereka menghadapi masalah sistem aplikasi, takkan lah mereka nak biarkan?”.

Terus klik Update. Tapi sekiranya kotak prompt menyatakan bahawa “You are up to date” seperti dibawah.

Small Businesses Should Be On TikTok

Yes. Despite that general adults’ perception TikTok is just for kids, it is a platform that captures attention of a certain group. Most users of TikTok are from the age of 15 to 24. In fact, those older than 24 are starting to be on TikTok too be it purposely or by coincidence. Perhaps they are parents who want to monitor their kids anonymously?

Those who are aware of the power of TikTok have also ventured into TikTok to create content. These content are not limited to miming and dancing to trending songs. I saw many businesses have conveyed important information in a creative way with various features available on TikTok.

Rather than shying away from the quickly growing social media channel, it is best for business owners study the platform and study the best way to make full use of it. Probably you’re still thinking it isn’t suitable for the nature of your business yet. But register an account anyway before someone else takes your business name.

Big businesses and organizations like Tarte cosmetics, The Washington Post, Prada, Red Bull, Primark and even UNHCR are already on TikTok. So that means they know what are the opportunities available on TikTok. If not, they wouldn’t have wasted time putting out content on the platform.

Although the age group of your potential customers may not exist on TikTok (yet). They currently have elder family members and they themselves are growing up anyway. It is great if your brand is able to show to them that your brand exist and what does it offer.

Imagine if one day their parents needed to buy flowers and their kid mentions that “Oh, I know this one cool flower shop on TikTok and they’ve got really beautiful collection.” Definitely being busy parents, they’d go and check out on your TikTok account or website if you have on. Perhaps they’d head on to your shop straight away to see it themselves!

So what do you think? Would you consider your business to be on TikTok or not? Let me know in the comments.

Why Aren’t People Buying From Me?

You’ve got a new product. Your stocks are ready and you can’t wait to share its benefits to your potential customers. But when you start selling, turns out nobody is buying or only a few people bought the items.

Have you ever experienced this? So what went wrong?

There could be various factors that you could reexamine in your business. Ask yourself these questions:-

1. Does your product have a brand that clearly makes it unique?

2. If you are a seller online, do you have a personal brand that enables people to recognise and trust to buy from you? Having a personal brand for a business would give it a human face which allows people to connect wth your business emotionally. In the end, we are dealing with human beings after all.

3. Is your product really effective or useful? If it is, then have you put out your testimonials for your potential customers see the proof on how good the product is. Also, prior testing to a group of customers and acquiring feedback would enable you to identify whether the product is really good and needed by your customers or not.

4. Do you have a marketing funnel? Nowadays, direct selling or hardselling would immediately turn off customers. By having a marketing funnel, you are able to attract the right customers in the first place and with the right strategies you will be able to close sales easily.

So, by answering these questions, it will make it easier for you to rectify your weaknesses and devise a better strategy to market your products.

Remember to answer those questions honestly. And it doesn’t end there. Seek the opinions of people who’ve done business before and not simply just anyone around you. Find the right people to be your mentor.

How To Choose The Best Social Media Platform For Your Business

According to Gary Vee who is a reknowned social media expert, businesses should put out content as much as possible to stay ahead in the market. Based on his content strategy, Gary takes the approach of bombarding valuable contents on 7-10 social media platforms available.

If you’re a new online entrepreneur or solopreneur, creating content consistently every single day might be a bit overwhelming for you. No worries! Just start focusing on creating on one platform first.

To make things easy for you, I’d offer two levels of consideration. If you’re on an advanced phase then skip Level One. Choose whichever suits you best. Do things that are most convenient for you. But most importantly is that you must be CONSISTENT on creating content.

Level One: Ask yourself, which platform are you most familiar with and you’re most active? Then choose that one particular platform to create, create, create. Keep going like a juggernaut.

Level Two: If you have very active accounts on two or three platforms, then you can start deliberating on your customers. There are at least 2 aspects that you’d need to consider to choose which social avenue would you like to spend more time on to promote your business:-

  1. The customer’s age range: The age factor is really important for you to know because most users between the age of 24-40 years are on instagram and those aged 35 years and above would still prefer Facebook. Well, this applies at least in the Malaysian market.
  2. Interest: Knowing what interests your customers would help you to strategize the kind of content that would entice your customers on your social media platforms.

ARE YOU GOOD IN WRITING OR SPEAKING?

It is also important to know your strength. Are you brilliant in writing or do you feel great talking in front of a camera? Okay… if you love writing then take unique pictures and post with interesting written stories on your business instagram or Facebook Page. Take it as a mini-blog. Value is key. Remember that.

But if you prefer speaking then start creating videos and post them on IGTV. From a long video you can select the best portion that suits as a teaser and post them on instastories or post feed. But it would be way better if you would upload it again on your YouTube channel.

So choosing your business platform is not as difficult as you imagined after all, eh? I hope this will give you something new and it’d encourage you to start getting your business online. Good luck!

How To Take Your Offline Business Online? (Very Basic Stuff)

You sell products from your shop, a small cart at a mall or a stall at the night market. Probably you have a restaurant or you offer services be it from your own dedicated premise or by going to your customer’s homes.

But then you realise that selling your stuff or services is a struggle. So you decided to take your offline business to the net. You want to start selling online but you have no idea on how to go about doing it.

There are many easy ways to start your business online. Don’t be overwhelmed with the technical and tactical parts and let that be a hindrance for you to start doing it. Here I’d like to share with you three (yes only 3!) simple steps to make your business have an online presence so that it’ll be easier for your customers or potential customers to find you.

1. HAVE A CLEAR CUT BUSINESS IDENTITY

First you must have a name of your business. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a name of your LLC or as in Malaysia your registered enterprise or Sdn. Bhd. entity. But it must have a unique name that reflects the nature of business so that it’ll be easier for new customers to identify what does your business offer.

Secondly, you must have a clear cut description of what your business sells and the services that you offer. This will further provide a direct to the point explanation of your business to your customer from the moment they set eyes on your social media accounts or website.

For example, your registered company’s name can be Starstruck Sdn. Bhd. but your business name is Starstruck Media. A simple description of the business could be “We are the digital marketing agency that brings out the uniqueness of your brand that can boost sales online”.

2. START WITH SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

It is best if your account names or handles are registered on all of the top social media platforms which are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google Business (if you have business premise). But if it seems all too much for you to handle, then register at least a Facebook page, Instagram business account and a Twitter account.

Make sure that all of the account names or handles are the same in order to create uniformity. Besides, by registering with the exact same names it will create ubiquitous presence of your business brand on the internet and it will be easier to be found in future.

3. DAILY UPDATES AND PUT OUT AS MUCH VALUABLE CONTENT AS POSSIBLE.

Each of the social media platforms have different nuances and it is better to design special types of contents for each of them. As a start, make one account as the main account of putting out content about your business. Then just reshare the contents on the rest of your social media accounts.

Remember, these contents need to bring value to your customers and it’s not only about selling your products. The objective is to build trust and a long term relationship with your customers.

It will take time but definitely will pay off if you are consistent. Just start doing and keep going because along the way you will understand how it works. By doing, along the way  you will start learning how to strategize further for your online marketing.
